Wabi-sabi 侘寂 is a Japenese aesthetic with roots in Zen Buddhism.
The concept, centered around the acceptance of transience, can be described as beauty in that which is imperfect and impermanent.
Characteristics of the wabi-sabi aesthetic include: plants & elements in nature, human-made, aged surfaces, simplicity, intimacy and the appreciation of natural processes.
