It's funny, I've been working on a re-design of my portfolio site thinking it too simple to grab a potential customer's attention. Then I get an awesome comment about it! I guess it really is true that we're always our worst critics. I swear that taking photos of the flowers is therapeutic! It is the simple things in life that are so important; it is so funny to see how many people have come back to that philosophy after what has happened with the economy. I think I've been moving towards it ever since I moved to Jax 8 years ago and had some very humbling experiences. But how or when a person comes to that realization doesn't diminish it in any way. Hopefully, once the economy improves we all still will remember that the simplest things can inspire, excite, fulfill and complete any person.
We do have a bunch in common - this just fits with my belief that like does tend to gravitate towards like; regardless of the distance!

I enjoy coming here,remember, if it feels haunted it's just me... I think what you have started here is very important.
Art needs to be seen.. yet it takes a lot of courage to show work, as artists,we need to stay open and vulnerable yet as artists we sometimes need to put our very private selves right out there for all to see.
I come here sometimes to be reminded that there is another woman with deep hungers who creates images so personal...if I had not found your site through a mutual artist (the shy one) I never would have actually picked up a pencil again. Up until that time I was simply enjoying what others were doing but your work really hit me, hard. Really teased up a deep need, joy, that I had ignored for thirty years. Think about that, that's almost your lifetime.

Well I love the eyes. As an artist myself they happen to be my favorite thing to paint. To me the painting says that she has a secret behind those beautiful lucid voilet eyes...So I think if I were to suggest something I would say "Secret Behind These Voilet Eyes"...
Brilliant work by the way, I love the arm in the picture as well and I do understand why you named her Real Girl, what a wonderful name as well. Being seen as a doll, from the outside, and then seeing her eyes well, I can understand why you would call her Real Girl because she does have a soul a very deep soul...
